BRNO, Czech Republic - We really couldn't have asked for better weather for the past 2 days in Prague! It was sunny, perfect, very enjoyable, and fun really getting to know the city of Prague. This morning we enjoyed a nice European breakfast -oranges, yogurt and bologna sandwiches ... mmm. Then we hit the city and shopped till we dropped and looked at the sites! People were everywhere, and one thing that was really different was that there were no real traffic rules, cars drove wherever they wanted, and people walked in the street ... seems like if we had that things could get ugly. But that's how they roll here in Czech. We went to lunch at a little Italian pizzeria outside, and the waiter said he has never seen Americans as beautiful as us! I guess he was just a really honest guy .
After lunch we all met up again and went back to the hotel. On our way back, we had a great chat with out tour guide. He clued us in on the customs here and how to fit in. When you are finished eating, make your place look nice, eat with your fork in your left hand and knife in your right, and learn the language! Luckily, we did learn some of the language today before we went out. We used many words today like "excuse me, hello, thank you, yes/no, etc." The people smiled when we used their language. I think it is a sign of respect. And we were told that we Americans are loud ... I guess we didn't notice it, but we probably stand out in a crowd speaking English and being loud. That is just our custom, but we will try and work on our lowering our volume for the next 10 days.
We traveled two hours to Brno (most of which we slept; we are still tired!) to play the Spain national team! We lost 3-0, but Sharon said "We didn't come here for results; we came here to get better." And that's what we did! By the way, they were all huge and one of the girls had to duck to get into the elevator in our hotel.
It's been a great trip so far and I miss everyone who is not with us right now! Love to all our friends, family, and fans!
