Illinois State Looks North, Preparing to Face Marquette

March 19, 2014

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State women's tennis team is preparing to travel north to face non-conference foe Marquette, which has proven to be a tough competitor in the seasons past.

Over the last eight years, the Redbirds have faced the Golden Eagles seven times, with Marquette winning each time. This season, Illinois State has proven to be successful while on the road, only falling in three of eight away matches, and hopes to carry that momentum into the match to end its losing streak against Marquette.

Last week, Illinois State hosted and defeated Milwaukee to mark the second home match of the season earning them a 7-4 overall record.

The Redbirds will face the Golden Eagles at 1 p.m. CT this Friday, March 21 in Milwaukee, Wis. Live coverage and results will be tweeted as competition progresses @ISUWomensTennis
