NORMAL, Ill. - After winning three-straight matches, the Illinois State women's tennis team is set to travel to Chicago, Ill., to play No. 30 DePaul 6 p.m. Friday at the Lakeshore Athletic Club.

The Redbirds are now 5-3 overall this season, while the Blue Demons are 12-2 overall.

Illinois State is coming off a 6-1 victory over Eastern Illinois (Feb. 27). Tanja Hrovatic, Julia Zubkova and Hannah Esker all extended their singles winning streaks to three. In doubles, the teams of Esker and Carmen Peters as well as Hrovatic and Natalia Lech have won three-straight doubles matches.

DePaul extended its winning streak to seven matches with a 5-2 victory over Western Michigan (Mar.1). The Blue Demon duo of Anna Redecsi and Selma Salkovic are ranked No. 64 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

"We have faced many ranked teams this season," said head coach Chris Hoover. "DePaul is the highest ranked opponent we have faced so far this season. DePaul is another challenge to make us play harder and better. I feel like the team is improving every day. So, it would be good solid match."

Illinois State leads the all-time series over DePaul 9-8. The last time the two teams met was March 9, 2008, when the then-No. 51 Blue Demons defeated the Redbirds, 6-1. Your online source for Illinois State Athletics, tickets, TRC gifts, multimedia, Redbird merchandise, photos and more.
