Baillon Advances to Singles Finals at Second Chance Regional

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Illinois State women's tennis team claimed the third place Doubles A title and advanced into the singles consolation finals round, competing for fifth and seventh place at the Second Chance Regional hosted by Northern Illinois.

The team, which split up this weekend to head to both the ITA Midwest Regionals and the Second Chance Regionals, finished up competition at the ITA Regionals Saturday.

In singles competition at the Second Chance Regionals, Madeliene Baillon advanced past Green Bay's Stephanie Londre, 6-0, 6-2, into the Singles A consolation finals where she will compete against Chicago State's Kirsa Utech for the fifth place title. Heather Nisbet fell to Chicago State's Carynne Lloyd in the semifinals and will compete against Western Michigan's Bailey for the seventh place title Sunday.

In doubles competition, Nisbet and Baillon fell to Michigan's Dawson/Diaz, 8-6, before claiming Doubles A third place overall against UW's Hoch and Rabot.
