Feb. 15, 2014
LINCOLN, Neb. - The Illinois State women's tennis team defeated Eastern Michigan, 6-1, while on the road to mark the team's fifth-consecutive win of the 2014 spring season.
The Redbirds claimed victory over Eastern Michigan in all but two matches - one doubles match and one singles match - during the day's competition. Head coach Chris Hoover said he was happy with how his team played, and that it was a quality win for ISU.
"It's really a positive step towards the goals we have this year," Hoover said. "Hopefully, they can keep bringing it tomorrow against Nebraska. Win or lose, if we can get ourselves in a good fight like we gave today, I think we'll have a good chance."
