CHICAGO, Ill. - During a long fight at the boards Illinois State diving team brought home a number of victories after their competition at the UIC Diving Invitational Saturday, Jan 25.

The Redbirds went up against teams from all over the Midwest including UW-Milwaukee, Western Illinois, Lake Forest College, Augustana College, Wheaton College and UIC.

All four of the Illinois State's divers that performed in the invitational placed in the top ten for both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. Diving coach Phil Hoffman believes the invite was a solid start to a weekend full of competition and is ready to see the divers perform at the Butler Invite.

"Wenting had a good day at the UIC diving invitational," coach Hoffmann said. "She was less than one point off of breaking the 1-meter pool record she holds at UIC. Overall Zhang had a very solid day and is doing quite well on both boards. The rest of the divers are off to a great weekend after traveling. It's always a challenge going to a new pool, but I looking forward to tomorrow's invite at Butler."
