Two Home Matches Highlight Spring Schedule

NORMAL, Ill. - Coming off of its third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and first trip to the second round in program-history, the Illinois State soccer team will play in a 7v7 tournament and four games, including two at Adelaide Street Field, during the spring season, as announced by head coach Drew Roff Thursday afternoon.
The Redbirds will begin their spring season Saturday, March 1, by taking part in a 7v7 indoor tournament at Illinois' Irwin Indoor Facility. ISU will play four games during the day against Kent State (8 a.m.), Evansville (10 a.m.), Illinois Alumni (1 p.m.) and South Dakota (3 p.m.). From there, teams can advance to the semifinals at 6 p.m., and championship game at 6:40 p.m.
ISU's first regulation game will be on Saturday, March 22 against Valparaiso at 7 p.m. The match will be held at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. The Redbirds' first home match will be against Northern Illinois, Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m. ISU will play at Illinois, Friday, April 18 at 6 p.m., before concluding the spring slate with a home match against Northwestern, Sunday, April 27 at 1 p.m.

The Redbirds equaled a program-record with 14 victories last season en route to Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and tournament titles. With a victory in penalty kicks over Louisville, ISU became the first MVC team ever to advance in the NCAA Tournament.
