Schick to Compete in Norman NCAA Regional

NORMAL, Ill. - Senior Erica Schick has been selected to compete in the 2011 NCAA Regional in Norman, Oklahoma in the all-around competition. Senior Hannah Deutsch was selected as an alternate on the balance beam.
The NCAA Regionals are broken down into six regions. Each region consists of six teams, five all-around competitors and one individual event specialist per event. The top 18 teams were seeded on a national basis, based on RQS. Teams 19-36 were assigned to a regional site based on geographic proximity. All-around competitors and event specialists were assigned within their respective regions.
Schick enters the competition with an RQS of 38.880. She will compete against Brittany Johnson (TWU), Holly Reichard (NIU), Andrea Skala (UIC) and Beate Jones (ASU).
Deutsch will serve as an alternate for the balance beam, entering the meet with an RQS of 9.830.
Schick was named Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the year at the MIC Conference Championships where the Redbirds took fourth with a score of 191.400.
The meet will take place at Oklahoma University in Norman, Oklahoma on April, 2 beginning at 4 p.m. CT.
