Women's Golf Heads to Indiana for IU Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State women's golf team is headed to Carmel, Ind. to compete in the Indiana Invitational, hosted by Indiana at the par-72 Crooked Stick Golf Club. ISU is coming off a second-place finish at the Saluki Invitational, and a third-place tie individually by junior co-captain Tiffany Hockensmith.
Along with nearly capturing its first team title of the season, the Redbirds are also coming off their best team round after firing a final-round 296 at the Saluki Invitational.
Also competing for Illinois State is junior Marci Hill and sophomores Stacey Miller, Laura Harris, and Marisa Milligan. Milligan leads the team in scoring with a 75.3 scoring-average, while Miller leads the team with 21 rounds played.
The Redbirds are the only Missouri Valley Conference school of the 14-teams competing. The IU Invitational field includes host Indiana, Ball State, Illinois, Iowa, Lipscomb, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Purude, Texas and UNLV.
Tee times for the 54-hole event are scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start each day. The first 36-holes will be played Monday with the final round being played Tuesday. Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.
