Redbirds Set to Compete in Baylor Spring Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State women's golf team will compete in its fourth tournament of the spring season at the two-day, 14-team Baylor Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday. The tournament will be held at the par-72 Twin Rivers Golf Club in Waco, Texas.

"This is a big week for Redbird women's golf," said head coach Darby Sligh. "We are finding our stride during the last two tournaments leading up to the conference (championships). It's important that we find a rhythm as a team and that we show some consistency. I'm looking for stand-out leadership from the entire squad this week."

Seniors Marci Hill and Tiffany Hockensmith, along with juniors Laura Harris, Stacey Miller and Marisa Milligan will compete in the event for the Redbirds. Junior Britt Knutson will also compete in the tournament as an individual.

Illinois State will be competing against Baylor, Colorado State, Iowa, Iowa State, McLennan Community College, New Mexico State, SMU, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, North Texas, Texas-Pan American and Texas-San Antonio. The Redbirds will also face off against Valley rivals Missouri State and Wichita State.
