Krick Named First-Team Academic All-District V

NORMAL, Ill. - Senior guard Maggie Krick was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V First Team Thursday. Krick earned the distinction for the third-consecutive season.
A Preseason All-Valley selection for the second-straight year, Krick leads Illinois State in scoring (15.9 ppg), field goals (113), free throws (68) and assists (73). A starter in all 20 games, Krick has scored in double-figures 16 times, including six 20-point efforts. She scored a season-high 26 points in a win over Indiana State, making a career-best 11 field goals. Krick is third in the Valley in scoring and has recorded a career-best six assists twice.
Krick, an honorable mention selection in 2008 and a second team pick in 2009, has a 3.83 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) in business teacher education. She has been named to the AFNI Athletics Honor Roll every semester at ISU and was an MVC Honor Roll selection in 2008 and 2009.
As a first-team selection, Krick is now in contention for the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America team. There are 41 first-team academic all-district student-athletes in the eight divisions.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and be a starter or a key contributor to her team.
