Men's Tennis Gears up For Louisville Winter Invitational

Oct. 31, 2013

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Illinois State men's tennis team is preparing for this weekend's Louisville Winter Invite, hosted by Louisville at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center, Nov. 1-4.

The Redbirds will be competing against: Louisville, Campbellsville, Indiana, Kentucky, Longwood, Middle Tennessee State, Morehead State, Purdue and Vincennes.

The squad of seven has not seen action in 12 days and is well-rested for this weekend's matches. ISU head coach Mark Klysner is pleased with the way his team has been practicing and is ready to see the effort pay off.

"Guys have worked hard the last couple of weeks, and we've gotten healthy, which is always good after a busy fall thus far. I look for some good results this weekend."

The format of the tournament features two flights of singles and doubles which will be played indoors and outdoors, weather permitting. Doubles play will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, with singles to follow.

The Louisville Invite concludes the fall non-conference tournament season for the Redbirds. Your online source for Illinois State Athletics, tickets, Weisbecker Scholarship Fund gifts, multimedia, Redbird merchandise, photos and more.
