KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Illinois State men's tennis team will compete at the Western Michigan Vredevelt Invite Sept. 13-15. The squad of seven, will try to carry the momentum from the 2012-13 season. The matches run all day at Sorensen Courts and kick off the 2013-14 season.

First-year head coach Mark Klysner is looking forward to seeing where his team stands.

"I am excited to get this fall season up and running, and this weekend will be a great test for our guys." Klysner said. "There are going to be some very tough teams competing. After this weekend, we should have a good idea of what we will need to work on in the coming weeks."

The Redbirds will look to improve on their 10-15 record from a year ago. They return six players from their 2012-13 campaign. Seniors Erik Brunskog and Muddappa Appanervanda will look to lead the way for the Redbirds.
