The Brock Spack Show Airs Live From Schooners
Oct. 24, 2013
NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State football will look to improve to 4-0 at Hancock Stadium in 2013, when the Redbirds host South Dakota Staturday. ISU head coach Brock Spack will talk about the upcoming game against the Coyotes Thursday night at The Brock Spack Show, live from Schooners beginning at 6 p.m.
The Redbirds improved to 3-0 on their home turf, with a dominating 55-14 win over Indiana State last Saturday. Just a week after allowing a season-high 59 points and 569 yards of total offense in a loss at Youngstown State (Oct. 12), the Redbird defense held the Sycamores to a season-low 14 points and 174 yards of total offense, while scoring a season-high 55 points on offense.
The Coyotes head into the contest on a three-game winning streak in Missouri Valley Football Conference play. Last weekend, they rallied from a 28-7, third-quarter deficit and forced overtime with five seconds left in regulation at 13th-ranked Northern Iowa. The Coyotes would eventually go on to pick up a 38-31 overtime victory over the Panthers.
Coach Spack will preview his team's game against the Coyotes with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz and will be joined by senior safety Ezra Thompson. Thompson is in his second season with the Redbirds, after transferring from Colorado State prior to the 2012 season. The Tinley Park, Ill., native was a Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team selection last year, after he finished the season with 46 tackles and tallied two interceptions. Through seven games in 2013, Thompson has recorded 26 tackles.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington, and sits just off the corner of Grove and Clinton Streets. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM and 93.7 FM in the Twin Cities, on GoRedbirds.com and on the iHeart Radio app for smartphones.
