The Brock Spack Show Airs Live Thursday at Schooners

Sept. 26, 2013

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State football team is fresh off a win at the newly-renovated Hancock Stadium, but has a tough challenge ahead of it this weekend as the Redbirds head to Springfield, Mo., to start Missouri Valley Football Conference play at Missouri State. ISU head coach Brock Spack will talk about the upcoming game Thursday night at The Brock Spack Show live from Schooners beginning at 6 p.m.

After a tough non-conference schedule that featured games at Ball State and nationally-ranked Eastern Illinois, the Redbirds bounced back last weekend with a 31-17 win over Abilene Christian in the 2013 home opener. That win capped off the non-conference slate for the Redbirds, and they begin the always-tough MVFC campaign Saturday against the Bears. Spack will talk about his team's preparations for Missouri State with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz during the hour-long show and will also be joined by player guest Jordan Neukirch.

Neukirch was a 2012 All-Missouri Valley Football Conference First-Team selection at fullback, playing in all 13 games for the Redbirds. He did not record a carry on the season, but caught four passes for 27 yards with two touchdowns. The Algonquin, Ill., native was selected as a 2013 third-team preseason All-America candidate and has already set career bests with six catches for 54 yards in three games for the Redbirds this season.

Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington, and sits just off the corner of Grove and Clinton Streets. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM and 93.7 FM in the Twin Cities, on and on the iHeart Radio app for smartphones.
