Hancock Stadium Renovation Update: Week 19
Jan. 10, 2013
NORMAL, Ill. -When Illinois State students return to campus this weekend before classes start Monday, they will have a lot more to look at when they pass by Hancock Stadium. Over the break, the construction crew worked diligently and the new-look Hancock Stadium is starting to take shape quickly on the east side of the stadium facing Main Street.
The North stair tower is complete and the North elevator tower is expected to be wrapped up by the end of the week. The crew has also removed part of the Hancock Stadium turf apron to begin underground work for footings that will become the front wall of the new east side stands.
As work continues, fans passing by or following along on the university's web cams will begin to see the South stair and elevators towers begin to take shape and soon work will begin on the archway connecting the two towers. That will hover above the new ticket office and main entrance to the stadium, which can be seen in renderings on the official Hancock Stadium Renovation website.
