INDIANAPOLIS - Redshirt sophomore guard Nick Zeisloft is one of 75 NCAA Division I men's basketball student-athletes nominated for the 2014 Allstate NABC Good Works Team, as announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Tuesday morning.

One of Illinois State's two captains, Zeisloft leads by example. Throughout his entire academic career at Illinois State, Zeisloft has excelled in the classroom, earning a 3.74 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) in finance. He is a three-time AFNI Honor Roll member, while amassing a perfect 4.0 GPA during two out of his first four semesters. For his efforts, Zeisloft was the 2013-14 recipient of the Dr. James E. Collie Endowed Scholarship.

Along with his classroom success, Zeisloft has also contributed in the community. Throughout his young career, Zeisloft has earned 20 hours of community service, including 10 already this season. From assisting with a disadvantaged children's holiday party to helping with ISU's recent Water for Washington, Ill., campaign, Zeisloft epitomizes what it means to be an Illinois State student-athlete.

As a redshirt sophomore on the court this season, Zeisloft has already surpassed his single-game scoring and rebounding career-highs with a 14-point effort at San Francisco (Nov. 30) and two seven-rebound performances at San Francisco (Nov. 30) and at VCU (Nov. 8). The LaGrange, Ill., native, is averaging 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game so far this season.

The NABC All-Works Team recognizes a select group of college basketball student-athletes who have made significant contributions to the greater good of their communities through volunteerism and civic service. In its second year, the Allstate NABC Good Works Teams honor players at all levels of college basketball who represent the sport's finest in the areas of leadership and charitable achievements amongst their peers. The student-athletes nominated for this prestigious award embody the true spirit of teamwork and giving back.

From the 118 total NABC nominees and 84 WBCA (Women's Basketball Coaches Association) nominees submitted by sports information directors across the nation on behalf of their schools, special voting panels will select two 10-member teams comprised of five student-athletes from the NCAA Division I level and five student-athletes from Divisions II, III and the NAIA. The final roster of 20 award recipients will be unveiled in February.

Fans have a chance to see Zeisloft in action this week as the Redbirds return to Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena for four out of the next five games, starting this Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 7:05 p.m. versus Chicago State.
