ISU Basketball to be Nationally, Regionally Televised 12 Times

NORMAL, Ill. - There will be plenty of opportunities for Illinois State alumni and fans to follow the Redbird men's basketball team this season, as ISU will appear on national and regional television at least 12 times this season. Of the 12 telecasts, eight will be Redbird road games.

Illinois State's institutional package, which will be produced by Niles Media Group and seen on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, features seven games, including five on the main Comcast SportsNet Chicago channel and two on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus. Through its partnership with ISU, Comcast SportsNet will carry the Dec. 7 game at Morehead State, the Jan. 21 contest at Evansville, the Jan. 28 home date against Southern Illinois, the Feb. 4 home game versus Bradley and the Feb. 11 game at Northern Iowa.

In addition, the Jan. 15 game at Drake and the Feb. 14 game at Indiana State will been seen on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus (viewers are urged to visit for the exact Comcast SportsNet Plus channel locations of these games in their area). WMBD Sports Director Kurt Pegler will return as the play-by-play voice, while former ISU assistant coach Bob Morris will once again serve as the analyst.

"This is a valuable partnership for our department, as we solidify our branding efforts by reaching out to 4.8 million homes through our institutional television package."

The Missouri Valley Conference office also announced the league package Monday, which is also produced by the Niles Media Group. The Redbirds will appear on the Valley package three times this season. Illinois State's Jan. 1 game at Southern Illinois and the home contest against Indiana State Jan. 18 will both be a part of the league's regional telecasts and will be seen on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and Fox Sports Midwest.



The Redbirds will also host Creighton Jan. 13 for an ESPN3 game. is ESPN's live broadband sports network, a 24/7 destination that delivers thousands of global sports events annually. It is currently available in approximately 70 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or cable TV video subscription from an affiliated service provider.

The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers connected to on-campus educational networks and on-base military networks. It is also accessible to Xbox LIVE Gold members and via and the WatchESPN app through an affiliated provider.
