NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller announced the National Letter of Intent (NLI) signing of Mark Hall, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound transfer guard from Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyo., Wednesday.
A native of Chicago-suburban Round Lake Beach, Ill., and a graduate of Grayslake North High School, Hall has three years of eligibility remaining, after leading Eastern Wyoming with a 38.5 percent three-point shooting average as a freshman in 2013-14.
"Mark is a long and athletic guard who will be able to play multiple perimeter positions," Muller said. "He is a dedicated student-athlete who has proven to be an incredibly hard worker on and off the court. Mark's best basketball is ahead of him. We are excited to welcome Mark to the Illinois State men's basketball program."
During his freshman season at Eastern Wyoming, Hall started 15 out of 21 games, averaging 9.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.7 steals per contest. He also shot 30-for-78 (38.5 percent) from beyond the arc and 47-for-61 (77.0 percent) at the free throw line.
Hall netted double-figures 10 times in 2013-14, with a career-best 19 points on 7-for-10 (70.0 percent) shooting from the field and a 5-for-6 (83.3 percent) effort from beyond the arc in a win over Fort Collins (Nov. 16). He also dished six assists - with just one turnover - plus six rebounds during the victory. Hall nearly matched his career-high with an 18-point performance in Eastern Wyoming's season-finale win over Casper College (Feb. 24). Hall opted to redshirt at Eastern Wyoming in 2012-13.
As a senior at Grayslake North High School in 2011-12, Hall led the Knights to a 19-9 overall record and a second-place finish (9-3) in the Fox Valley Conference while averaging 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
Along with earning all-conference accolades during his senior season, Hall was named to The Daily Herald All-Area Honorable Mention Team, the Lake County All-Star Team, and the McHenry County All-Star Team. He was also voted as Grayslake North's most-valuable player.
