Redbirds to Host Texas A&M in CBI Quarterfinal Monday

NORMAL, Ill. - After beating Morehead State, 77-67, in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) opener, the Illinois State men's basketball team remains at home to host a CBI quarterfinal game Monday, March 24 versus Southeastern Conference (SEC)-foe Texas A&M on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.
The start time for Monday's game has not yet been determined due to the potential for TV coverage by CBS Sports Network.
Tickets for the Redbirds' CBI quarterfinal home game go on sale Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Redbird Arena ticket office, by clicking here, or by calling (309) 438-8000. The cost is once again $5 for students, $10 for upper bowl tickets and $15 for lower bowl tickets.
Season ticket holders who already requested post-season tickets will have their tickets automatically renewed and mailed out Wednesday night.
With the Redbirds' win over Morehead State, ISU improved to 13-3 on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena this season. Meanwhile, Texas A&M also won its CBI opener with a 59-43 victory over Wyoming Monday night in College Station, Texas.
Monday's CBI quarterfinal contest will mark the first-ever appearance by an SEC team at Redbird Arena, and only the second-ever in Normal, Ill. Mississippi visited ISU Dec. 23, 1978, and the Redbirds won, 76-72.
ISU has only met Texas A&M one other time in program history, with the Redbirds prevailing, 74-66, in overtime Dec. 21, 1984 at the American Savings Classic in Stockton, Calif.
