CHICAGO - Fan voting for Illinois State senior guard Tyler Brown in the first round of the "State Farm Dark Horse Dunker" competition ends today at noon. Brown is narrowly leading Benedict College's Tydran Beaty, 51 percent to 49 percent. For Brown to move on to the "Elite 8" of the competition, fans must vote for Brown now at

Fans are allowed to vote once per day. The winner of the entire contest will participate in the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition at the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in Atlanta at 6 p.m. CST, April 4, on ESPN.

Sixteen dunkers have been selected to compete in the "State Farm Dark Horse Dunker" Facebook bracket, which is a five-week knockout competition. Brown might be known first for his three-point shooting and defense, but his dunking abilities are equally impressive. In his submission video, Brown bounces an alley-oop to himself and finishes with a 360-degree dunk.

Two years in a row, the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker moved on to win the entire Denny's Slam Dunk Competition. Last year, James Justice from Martin Methodist College won the 16-player Dark Horse Dunker bracket before winning in New Orleans, while Jacob Tucker of Illinois College was named the 2011 champion. Both dunkers are now members of the Harlem Globetrotters.
