Redbird Coaches Show at Pub II Tonight

NORMAL, Ill. - The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows are on the air tonight, live from the Pub II in Normal, Ill. Fans can listen live on, as Barb Smith and Dan Muller preview the four Redbird games this week, including one home and one road game for the men, while the women are on the road for two games this weekend.

The Barb Smith Show, hosted by Zach Dietmeier, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Coach Smith will be joined by junior Katy Winge. ISU defeated Southern Illinois, 68-63, in its first overtime game of the season in the fourth-annual Play 4Kay game Sunday. On Friday, the Redbirds fell to Evansville, 75-62. After a three-game homestand, Illinois State will travel to Wichita State Friday and Missouri State Sunday. Against the Purple Aces, Winge pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds, topping her previous best of five boards, including four offensive rebounds. Winge is averaging 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game during the Missouri Valley Conference season.

The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Coach Muller will be joined by junior John Jones. The Redbirds defeated I-74 rival Bradley, 70-54, Saturday at Redbird Arena, after losing to Evansville in overtime, 104-98, earlier in the week. The men will host Missouri State Tuesday at 7:05 p.m., before traveling to Northern Iowa Sunday. Jones, who is continuing to recover from a broken foot, which has sidelined him for six-straight games, averaged 5.9 points per game through 20 contests and pulled down 3.9 boards per game before the injury.
