Redbird Basketball Needs Your Help to Red Out Wichita State

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State men’s basketball team will be defending its seven-game winning streak at Redbird Arena, Wednesday night, at 7:05 p.m., when the Redbirds take on No. 4 Wichita State on Doug Collins Court. Redbird Athletics encourages all fans to wear red to the game to Red Out Wichita State.
At No. 4 in the nation according to the USA Today Coaches Poll, Wichita State will be the highest-ranked team to ever play at Redbird Arena. The Shockers are currently No. 5 in the AP Top 25. Previously, the highest-ranked team to visit Redbird Arena was No. 15 Drake in 2008. The last time ISU hosted a top-five program was when No. 2 Purdue played at Horton Field House in 1987. Earlier this season, ISU earned its first-ever win over a Top-25 team in Redbird Arena by beating No. 25 Dayton, 81-75, on Jan. 7, 2013.
Red Alert members will have free admission into the game, while non-Red Alert members can purchase $5 student tickets with a valid ID. All students in attendance will receive a collector’s edition rally towel while supplies last, courtesy of Red Alert.
