NORMAL, Ill. - Tyler Brown's 21 points and four rebounds led Illinois State in a win over in-state rival Bradley, 78-48, Saturday evening on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena. Brown has scored 20 or more points on four separate occasions this season.

The Redbirds held Bradley to 30 percent shooting from the field, while ISU shot 51 percent. Jackie Carmichael led overall rebounds with a total of eight, which allowed him to surpass the 500-career-rebound mark. He is the 31st player in ISU history to join the 500-rebound club. Three Redbirds ended the game with double figures, including Brown, Bryant Allen (11) and John Wilkins (10). Bradley was led by Jalen Crawford, who scored 11 points.

ISU jumped out to a five-point lead to begin the game with a three-pointer from Wilkins and layups from Brown and John Ekey, to lead 7-2. By the 15:16 mark, the Redbirds had posted another five points, pushing the lead to nine, 13-4. Illinois State continued to score while holding the Braves to those four points for the next three minutes of play, and lengthened the lead to double-digits for the first time, 15-4.

Three-pointers from Nic Moore and a layup from Jordan Threloff pushed the score to 25-13 in favor of Illinois State. For another five and a half minutes, the Redbirds held Bradley scoreless, while continuing to post baskets. Nine points from Brown pushed ISU to a 23-point margin over Bradley, 39-16. A three-pointer from Wilkins pressed the Redbirds ahead even further, and despite a layup from Bradley, ISU entered halftime with a 24-point lead, 43-19.

The second half began with a 9-0 run from the Redbirds, putting ISU ahead by 33 points at the 15:31 mark, 52-19. The Braves did not score until the 14:37 mark, over six minutes into the second half. Three-pointers from Allen and Brown pushed ISU to further its lead, 58-21.

The Redbirds responded to a Bradley four-point run with points from Wilkins and a three-pointer from Allen, moving the score to 64-25. A dunk from Hill gave Illinois State a 40-point lead over Bradley, 69-29. A 9-2 run from the Braves made the score 71-39, and despite a layup from Threloff, the Braves posted three back-to-back three-pointers to make it 75-48.
