Graduate Assistant Bryan George enters his first year at ISU and will bring his expertise as an assistant to the cross country team as well as the distance and middle distance runners on the track and field team. The 2006, graduate of Central College, a Division III institution in Pella, Iowa, George received his bachelors degree in general studies. As a distance runner for the Dutch, George was a two-time Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion in 2006 indoor and outdoor seasons.
The Pella, Iowa, native was a leader on the cross country and track and field teams during his stint at Central College. George was named the cross country team captain from 2003-05 and was the track team captain from 2005-2006. His accolades during his four year campaign included eight all-conference, one all-regional and one All-American selection. He was also a three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
George spent the 2006-07 season as an assistant track and cross country coach at his alma mater. During that time, he was also an assistant in the Central College Media Relations office where he was the assistant sports information director for Central College's 17 collegiate sports.
George is working towards a master's degree in sports administration at Illinois State.
