"Straight A" program
"SPONSOR" will assist in sponsorship of the "Straight A" program. This program has been in existence for 23 years, and is also sponsored by The Pantagraph and Kathryn Beich. This program is designed to reward those students who have achieved an A or A- average in academic subjects during one grading period of the fall semester. The award is not for effort alone, rather it is an award based on academic achievement. In the fall a letter is sent to all principals in the Pantagraph reading area (approximately 190 schools) including "Straight A" program information and registration forms. In addition, posters and flyers are included that are posted in each school. Each student who earns straight A's receives two (2) tickets to a men's or women's basketball game (approximately 4,000 students qualify). The "SPONSOR" logo would be included on all letters, flyers, posters and information sent to the schools, as well as in all newspapers, radio and television advertising. In addition, on the nights of each "Straight A" game, "SPONSOR" would receive three (3) 10-second scoreboard spots on the main basketball scoreboard in Redbird Arena, and two (2) public address announcements. COST: $3,500 per year
