The Varsity I Club is the elite letter winners club for Illinois State University and is made up of over 5600 former student-athletes. The club provides social venues for members to catch up with old teammates and the opportunity to stay involved with the athletic programs at Illinois State University. The Varsity I Club provides a stage for former student-athletes to help current student-athletes.
The traditions that have been established and the trophies that have been won are a tribute to the thousands of student-athletes who have donned the red & black for many decades. Our commitment to the letter winner family is evident in the social opportunities we provide for our members and the various support we give the athletics department toward their mission of success. The feeling of association and ownership in a program you helped build is without comparison. The Varsity I Club's goals are to preserve the past, embrace the present and support the future of Redbird Athletics.
The Varsity I Club is an arm of the Athletics Department that offers former Redbird letter winners the opportunity to continue to be involved in Illinois State athletics once their eligibility has concluded. Members rekindle old friendships and establish new ones through the bond of athletics. There are no better ambassadors for Illinois State Athletics than those who have competed and have stayed "true" to this emblem...
