Listening is a key skill emphasized by the athletic training staff at Illinois State University to give each individual student-athlete the greatest possible opportunity to compete at his or her best.

Led by head athletic trainer John Munn, the four full-time staffers and six graduate assistants not only serve the student-athletes at Illinois State, but also are an integral part of one of the best-known, fully-accredited athletics training education programs in the United States. Hundreds of current sports medicine professionals got their training at Illinois State.

Three full-service training rooms and the rehabilitation center in Horton Field House provide Illinois State student-athletes with access to care and treatment second to none. The staff has access to consulting doctors and health care professionals on call in the community in virtually every area of medicine.

Experience, facilities, access and professionalism all are vital to the outstanding reputation built by Illinois State athletic training and sports medicine. But it all starts with the willingness to listen and care about each student-athlete.
