Laura Provost has worked for Illinois State since 1992, and she has served as the Redbird women's golf assistant coach since 2008. Provost came to ISU as part of the recreation services team where she remained for 13 years until she was appointed Head Professional/Associate Director of Golf in 2005.
Provost began her career in 1987 as an assistant professional at the Cypresswood Golf and Country Club. The following year, she served as the Teaching Director for Katke, Ferris State University, and Big rapids Mich. golf courses. She spent another two years as an assistant professional at the St. Charles Country Club in St. Charles, Ill where she remained until her move to Illinois State in 1992.
Since 1989, Provost has been a certified professional of the PGA of America. She was also a member of the Central Chapter Illinois PGA Executive Board from 1992-1997, where she held many offices. Provost was the Education Chairperson from 1992 to 1995, the Employment Chairperson in 1995, and the Secretary/Treasurer in 1996. Provost was re-elected to the chapter board in 2007, where she is currently serving as the secretary.
Provost was the Horton Smith (Education) Award Winner in 1993, 1995 and 1996, and she was also the Junior Golf Leader in 1995 and 1996.
Since 2005 she has been part of the PGA President's Council on Growing the Game, the Illinois Special Olympics Golf Sports Director, the Illinois Junior Golf Association Board of Directors, and the American Business Women's Association.
Provost earned an associate of applied science at Oakland Community College and a bachelor of science in professional golf management/marketing at Ferris State University.
