Redbird Baseball Surpasses $10,000 Vs. Cancer Fundraising Goal

NORMAL, Ill. – Just ahead of the second-annual Vs. Cancer game at Duffy Bass Field Sunday, April 27, at 12 p.m. when the Redbirds play Southern Illinois, the Illinois State baseball team has surpassed its goal of raising $10,000 to support the research efforts of individuals diagnosed with cancer.
Currently ISU’s team has raised $10,195 through the generous donations of fans and supporters of the cause, and the team will continue to receive donations to raise money for childhood cancer through play of Sunday’s game. To become part of the cause and donate to Illinois State’s fundraising team, visit Illinois State’s Vs-Cancer.org webpage and proceed through the following steps: 1) Click on ‘Join Team;’ 2) Fill in the information form; 3) Click ‘Start Fundraising;’ 4) Make your donation!
Following the conclusion of the game, the entire Redbird baseball team and coaches will shave their heads in support of the efforts of the Redbirds Vs. Cancer event. Station 710 and the Hair Cuttery, located in Bloomington, will serve as the stylists who will shave the players heads at the event.
