Redbirds Present the Second-Annual `Hardly Normal' Talent Show
April 3, 2014
NORMAL, Ill. - On Monday, April 14th, the Illinois State Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) will host the second-annual `Hardly Normal' Student-Athlete Talent Show at Redbird Arena, beginning at 7 p.m. Admission to the event is free, while donations will be accepted and will benefit The Baby Fold.
The two-hour event will include acts from various Redbird teams, which will be announced at a later date. The skits will be judged by a panel of VIP's from the Illinois State campus and the Bloomington/Normal communities.
"We are excited to host the "Hardly Normal" talent show for the second year," SAAC president and women's basketball player Chloe Nelson said. "The Baby Fold has been a wonderful organization to work with, and we hope that the Redbird community comes out to support this great event."
The donations for the event will benefit The Baby Fold in Normal, Ill. The Baby Fold was born out of one woman's desire to care for others and originally started in 1902 by Nancy Mason. The faith-based orphanage for infants and young children has grown in to a multi-service agency, specializing in the care of today's most vulnerable children. They focus on improving the lives of children and families by building safe, loving, healthy environments through adoption services, foster care, residential care, special education and family and community services.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and concession stands will be open during the talent show. Come out and cheer on the Redbird student-athletes, as they raise awareness for a great cause.
